1. William P. Clements Unit
Located in Amarillo, Texas, the Clements Unit houses mixed-custody inmates. Inmates are separated into various security levels, starting with G-1 minimum security and moving to G5. A maximum of 3,798 male inmates can be accommodated in the Clements unit.
Although these figures are disputed, approximately 8% of inmates report sexual victimization. Substance abuse treatment is available for inmates who are convicted of drug offenses.
