Yes, Melly is still in prison. His mother broke the news through his Instagram that Melly's trial will begin on June 5th. His trial started on April 4th, 2019, at Broward County Jail, Florida.
Broward Circuit Judge John Murphy, famously known for his firm decisions, took a surprising turn. He lowers the threshold for the death penalty if he is convicted. The judge allowed juries to suggest capital punishment with an 8-4 vote. He took this decision at the request of prosecutors. Later when the investigation occurred, they discovered that Melly had shot his two close friends, Christopher Thomas Jr and Anthony Williams.
