If you have ever been accidentally into reality TV, you might have heard of Chrisley Knows Best. It is likely that you indeed do know this show, considering it aired for 10 long seasons. Chrisley Knows Best is an American reality television series that began airing on the USA Network on 11th March 2014. It revolves around the lives of Georgia real estate tycoon Todd Chrisley and his wealthy family and has its fair share of comedy and rich people stuff if that ever entertained anyone.
While the show managed to entertain its audience with nearly 200 episodes, it eventually came to an end. It was later revealed by the family’s lawyer that most of what happened in the show was, in fact, not real. He went on to say that the relationship between the family, however, was real. And though the show received mixed reviews from the audience, it might be worth diving into.

Chrisley Knows Best
Chrisley Knows Best was filmed in Roswell and Alpharetta, suburbs of Atlanta, before relocating primarily to Nashville during the fourth season. Growing Up Chrisley, a spin-off focusing on Chase and Savannah Chrisley, began airing in 2019.
The primary character of the show is Michael Todd Chrisley, who goes by the name Todd and is a real-estate tycoon. Todd was born on 6th April 1969 in Georgia and raised in Westminster, South Carolina. He was previously married to his high school sweetheart, Teresa Terry, before marrying Julie in 1996. He has five children, two with Teresa and three with Julie. Todd is a self-made millionaire.
Julie Chrisley is Todd's wife; they were married on May 25, 1996. She also hails from South Carolina, and her father was a Baptist minister. She has three children with Todd: sons Chase and Grayson and daughter Savannah. She also has a web series called What’s Cooking with Julie Chrisley, which was launched on USA Network's website. Julie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012, which she overcame.

Lindsie Chrisley
Lindsie Chrisley Campbell, Todd's oldest daughter with ex-wife Teresa Terry, eloped with Will Campbell in 2012, without getting her father's approval. Todd eventually forgave Will.
Lindsie and Will briefly separated in 2014, before reconciling but grew apart soon and filed for divorce in 2016. They later reconciled once again and withdrew the divorce filing. They have a son together.
Lindsie made her final appearance in season 5 of the show before falling out with the family. Lindsie and the rest of the Chrisleys have made various allegations against one another since then. Her attorney claims that she has been a constant target of lies, harassment, and threats from the family and, as a result, has had to distance herself from the Chrisley family since 2017.
Kyle Chrisley
Kyle Chrisley, Todd's oldest son with ex-wife Teresa Terry, has a daughter Chloe who lives with her grandparents because Kyle is a recovering addict with bipolar disorder.
He made an appearance in the first season before getting involved in drugs again and has been mentioned only once since then, during the second season. He announced in 2019 that he is sober again and appeared in the season 8 finale in 2021.
Chase, Savannah, and Grayson
Chase Chrisley is the oldest of three of Todd and Julie's children. Savannah Chrisley is a former beauty pageant competitor who took home the Miss Tennessee Teen USA title in 2016 and placed in the Top 15 at Miss Teen USA 2016. She has a cosmetic company. Grayson Chrisley is the youngest.
Faye Chrisley
Faye Chrisley, also known as Nanny Faye, is Todd’s mother. She is also from Westminster, North Carolina.
Production of Chrisley Knows Best
Chrisley Knows Best was pitched to ten networks, nine of which made offers to buy it. It ended up being picked by USA Network in December 2013.
The series had three executive producers, Adam Greener, Jim Sayer, and Stephanie Chambers. The production companies behind the series were Maverick TV and All3Media America. The series producers had complete access to the Chrisleys' schedule and decided which events to film while leaving out the others.

The family later stated that being on television made them think twice before doing things, both on and off-camera. Julie stated that they were always careful of the fact that people were watching them at all times; people were looking at them. She went on to say that whether what we were doing was good or bad, people were going to catch it all.
On 14th April 2014, the USA Network ordered a 12-episode second season of Chrisley Knows Best because, at the time, the series was garnering more young viewers than any other original program on USA Network, with an average age of 36.5 years among viewers. The series successfully aired its 100th episode in June 2018.
Reception
Chrisley Knows Best garnered "mixed or average" reviews based on five reviews from the first two seasons, as reported by Metacritic. From 2015 to 2017, the reality show took home the NATPE's Reality Breakthrough award for best docusoap. In 2016, it was nominated for "Best Unstructured Reality Series" at the 22nd Critics' Choice Awards but lost to Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown.
Spin-Offs
Other related media include a spinoff called Growing Up Chrisley which focuses on Todd and Julie’s two older children, Chase and Savannah. The show follows the two as they "embark on a road trip from Nashville to Los Angeles to prove their independence". It was canceled in November 2022.

What's Cooking With Julie Chrisley, Chrisley Confessions, and Love Limo were some other short-lived side projects which were either scrapped or canceled eventually following the Chrisleys’ arrest and sentence.
Why are the Chrisleys going to Prison?
On 13th August 2019, when the seventh season of the show was airing, Todd and his wife Julie were indicted by the Georgia Department of Revenue (GDOR) on multiple tax evasion and bank fraud charges.
They turned themselves in on 14th August and were later released on a $100,000 bond. Despite the charges against them, the series came back for an eighth season. The couple settled the case with the Georgia Department of Revenue but were facing multiple federal charges, including tax evasion and fraud.
The federal trial began on 17th May 2022 and ended on 7th June. Both of the Chrisleys were convicted on each of the charges against them. On 21st November 2022, Todd and Julie Chrisley were sentenced to 19 years combined, with each serving 12 and 7 years, respectively.
Both the series and the Growing Up Chrisley spin-off were canceled, and another planned project was also scrapped following the conviction. Although a handful of episodes from the previously-renewed tenth season of Chrisley Knows Best, which were filmed before the trial, began airing on USA Network in 2023.
