Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility
The Vermont Department of Corrections operates the prison known as Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility (MVRCF), which is situated in Rutland, Vermont. An ancient wall that was built in Marble Valley and covered in brick and local stone provides support.
This wall, which was built in 1878, is the only remaining indication of the Rutland House of Correction, which sat here until the 1970s.

The Central Level Male Facility of SSCF, which opened its doors to its first convicts in 2003, has a capacity of 370 beds. In addition to the 146 state workers who work there, it also employs contracted employees in the fields of dentistry, mental health and medicine to provide program services.
