Nebraska State Penitentiary
The Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP) in Lincoln is one of the oldest correctional facilities in Nebraska. It opened in 1869, and ACA accredited it in 1985. It was the only adult correctional facility until World War I.
Five modular housing units were added to the facility later. An existing facility acted as a medium security facility with the addition of two new 100-bed dormitory units in 1998.
Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility
This correctional facility is a male-only center with adult housing units and a specialized housing unit for young offenders adjudicated as adults. The American Correctional Association (ACA) accredited the Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility in 2000.
It is spread over 54,000 square feet with minimum, medium, and maximum security facilities.
Community Correctional Center Lincoln
The Community Correctional Center Lincoln, also known as CCC-L, came into being due to the Work Release Program under Legislative Bill 569 in 1967. It allowed some inmates to work in the community and live in these correctional centers during non-working hours.
The construction of this facility began in 1991, and it opened in July 1993 with four units. This community correctional center had three units for men and one for women until 2017 when the state added another 100-bed men's transitional housing unit.
Furthermore, 160 more beds were added in 2019, leading to a total capacity of 500 male and 160 female offenders.

Community Corrections Center Omaha
The Community Corrections Center-Omaha is another community-based corrections center with 92 beds for male inmates working under the Work Release Program.
Another 87 beds facilitate inmates assigned to the work detail program. This facility keeps inmates classified as Community A and Community B custody inmates.
Omaha Correctional Center
This facility, on a 37-acre area in East Omaha, was opened in 1984 with a capacity of 240 inmates. Today it has multiple occupancy rooms and over double the capacity of 766 inmates.
The American Correctional Association accredited Omaha Correctional Center in 1986.
Tecumseh State Correctional Institution
LB 150 established the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI) in 1997. They selected a site two miles north of Tecumseh in 1998, and the staff hiring started in the spring of 2000.
Tecumseh State Correctional Institution has a ten-bed nursing facility, medical laboratory, x-ray, dental service, clinical exam rooms, and optometry. The facility began accepting inmates in December 2001.
Nebraska Correctional Center for Women
Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW) started operation in May 1920, and the American Correctional Association accredited it in 1981. Initially started as a two-story farmhouse, the state added two more buildings in 1924 and 1926.
Furthermore, the center received a 76-bed general population living unit, 15-bed segregation unit, 48-bed residential substance abuse treatment unit, 30-bed special needs unit, food preparation area, dining room, central laundry, staff offices, new water tower, administrative offices, medical services, and education.
Work Ethic Camp
The Work Ethic Camp is a 200-bed facility for males with an individualized program for the inmates' needs throughout their time there. The inmates here are classified in Minimum B custody.
The Reception and Treatment Center is also one of the state facilities for prisoners in Nebraska.
